Senapati first in state to have digital x-ray

Mahesh Chaudhari, deputy commissioner of Senapati district, on Wednesday inaugurated a digital x-ray machine at CMO Conference Hall, Senapati.
In the meantime, the District Health Society, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Senapati observed World TB Day under the theme "Invest to end TB and Save Lives" at the same venue.
Speaking as chief guest, Mahesh Chaudhari stressed that more focus should be given on awareness programme.
He applauded the district TB officer and her team for their effort in the installation of the digital x-ray machine as the first one in the state.
He also said that everyone is welcomed to his office for any queries and suggestions.
Guest of honour, Dr Thangpa Serto, TB officer, during his speech informed that the government of India aims to fully eradicate TB by 2025 and appealed to the health workers to work hard in order to achieve the target.
In his presidential speech.
Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, chief medical officer Senapati, said that Senapati is the first district ip the state to install digital x-ray.
The digital x-ray will help in diagnosing diseases.
Almost all the diagnostic equipment is available in the district, he added.
The digital X- ray will be very beneficial for both infected and unaffected person so that certain measures can be taken up at the earliest.
For all presumptive TB cases and HCWs, it will be free of cost, he informed, adding that there have been cases of 5 deaths in the district due to TB in this year.
The programme was at tended by DLOs, various medical officers, health workers and staff.
