Imphal, October 31 2021:
Communist Party of India (Marxist) central committee member Suprakash Talukdar has said that BJP government is a regime only for the wealthy and rich corporate houses.
He was speaking during a felicitation ceremony of the newly elected members of CPI (M) held at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday.
Suprakash Talukdar contended that both BJP governments in the state and at the centre are suppressing the poor and working against the people.
The BJP governments are only for the rich corporate houses, he reiterated.
Informing that the 19th Manipur State conference concluded on Saturday resolved to defeat BJP in the upcoming election, Suprakash denounced the government for turning a blind eye to the ever increasing prices of petroleum products and other essential items.
Instead of understanding the suffering of the people, the government is selling several government properties including airports to the corporates.
During the troubled times of Covid-19 in the state when the people are facing hunger, the country witnessed increase in the number of billionaires.
During the two years of pandemic period, the number of billionaires in the country rose from 120 to 140, he pointed out.
Newly appointed CPI (M) secretary Kshetrimayum Santa said that BJP government has been playing communal policies to divide the people and take political advantage out of it.
The BJP government is similar to the armies led by Hitler during World War II.
In the state too, CM Biren seems to be taking over all the departments so that the people could not approach for talk with any of the departments other than the CM himself.
This will cause trust deficit of the people towards the departments, he maintained, while contending that there is no chief minister as dictatorial like N Biren in India.
