Search Ops conducted, KYKL cadre netted

Imphal, June 30 2022: As part of routine security measures, Imphal West District Police Commando carried out search operations at various locations and apprehended one active cadre of procribed KYKL.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Yaikhom Janendro alias Janen (38) s/o (L) Sidam of Wabagai Terapishak.

According to a police report, a commando team arrested Janendro from Wabagai Terapishak area during a search operation carried out at around 8.30 am on Thursday.

On questioning, Janendro revealed that he has been working for the outfit under one self-styled commander Rakesh since December, 2019.Based on Rakesh's instruction, he made a demand to a woman in Hiyanglam for providing some mobile phones by June.

He was previously arrested twice as an active member of the outfit and was recently granted bail, after which he frequently made contact with Rakesh in Moreh.

Janendro has been handed over to Hiyanglam PS for further legal action.

Meanwhile, a team of Imphal West District Police Commando carried out search operations in Dhamashala, Bora Gali, Ngari Gali and Yaima Store areas of Thangal Bazar at around 4.30 pm on Thursday.

In all, 125 people were verified one-by-one, out of which 3 people without identification papers were handed over City PS for further verification.
