Imphal, June 30 2015 : Officials of the transport department had appealed to the vehicle owners to use the high security number plates on their vehicles.

It is also informed that vehicles imported from outside the State should be recorded at the State transport department for efficiency in handling any case of crime.

In a drive to promote the use of high security number plate at Naoremthong Bazar Inspector Dina Chandra asked the vehicle owners to be at the safer side by using high security number plate, it is also informed that if the documents of the vehicles coming from outside are lost they have to go to the State where the vehicle was purchased but if the vehicle is registered at the Manipur transport department it would do away the trouble.

Dina also informed that Manipur has vehicle tracking device and interested person can apply for the facility.

He also said that similar drive will continue for popularising the use of high security number plate which has become mandatory.
