Kh Jiban leaves BJP; committees dissolved

Thoubal, January 31 2022: Expressing, remorse on being denied the BJP ticket, Kharibam Jiban, who was preparing to contest the assembly election under the flag and symbol of the saffron party in Wangkhem AC, has resigned from BJP and is now preparing to contest under another political party.

Supporters of Kharibam Jiban also set the BJP flags on fire in protest against denial of ticket to him.

Speaking, to media persons at his Charangpat residence on Monday, Jiban informed he took voluntary retirement from service and joined BJP in 2012 with an objective to contest the upcoming election as candidate of the party.

He had been working from grassroots level to strengthen BJP in the constituency.

As such, it was unfortunate that the BJP ticket was given to another person who became associated with the party barely one-two months back, Jiban contended.

Joining the media briefing, BJP Thoubal district media coordinator Sm Samsid said that several activities were taken up under the leadership of Jiban in the five years to ensure the success of BJP.

Several committees like Kamal Sakhi, Lotus Club and Page in-charge were also formed.

However, a person who was expelled for not following the norms of the party was given the BJP ticket, he denounced, while asserting that all the committees set up under Jiban have been dissolved.
