Orgns condemn police action

Several organisations have condemned the 'offensive response' of the Officer-in-Charge of Lamphel Police Station to a complaint regarding missing case of a girl.
In this regard, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister on Sunday complaining him that father of the 17-year-old missing girl was physically assaulted by the Officer-in-Charge after verbally abusing him at the police station on March 22 .
The father along with a group of local women went to the police station to make inquiries regarding his missing daughter when the incident occurred, the memorandum to the CM said.
He was admitted to JNIMS after the incident, the memorandum said.
It said the girl has gone missing since March 18 .
She was returning home from Miracle Tutorial at Lamboi Khongnangkhong in Imphal West, and since then whereabouts of the teenager is still unknown to her family, it added.
The father then lodged a missing FIR bearing N0-77 (3)2015 LPS U/S 366-A/368 IPC at Lamphel Police Station, Imphal West.
Various organisations namely DESAM, ZSUM, AMMWO, AMMSO, ZYF Imphal East Zone and the JAC formed against the incident also condemned the the act of the police officer in the memorandum.
