Awareness programme on MSME scheme held at Senapati

MSME Promotion Council of India organized an Awareness program on MSME competitive (LEAN) scheme at its Head office located at Old Monday Market, Senapati district today.
Speaking at the event, Resource person, Ambedkar Kasina LEAN & ZED master trainer, MSME PCI said that micro, small and medium Enterprise (MSMEs) are catalysts for economic growth generating employment and contribute around 30% to the nation's GDP.
He said that the objective of the LEAN scheme is to enhance the domestic and global competitiveness of MSMEs through application of various lean tools and techniques.
Kasina continued that MCLS scheme will be implemented in two phases - manufacturing MSMEs and service sector MSMEs and there is government subsidy maximum up to 90% depending on the scheme.
The resource person highlighted about the LEAN tools to be implemented, monitoring of intermediate and advance level, financial assistance for MSMEs, how to register for the scheme, financial assistance for OEM and industry association, implementation of different levels, coverage and eligibility for lean scheme, MSME competitive (lean) scheme levels, implementing agency, major challenges faced by MSMEs, what is lean, MSME achievement and success story.
Dr Romeo Thono Paokhomai, chairman of Manipur MSME PCI added that under the MSME, there are many schemes that can uplift the society especially for the backward areas with the help of government's subsidy.
He said that MSME gives hope to the people by imparting training in various fields sponsored by the government.
He continued that MSME is actively working in 26 states of India where thousands have benefited and urged the people to avail the benefits of MSME.
The programme was attended by more than 30 individuals including MSME staff from other districts.
