Nemcha reaches out to poor Covid patients with aid

Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen reached out to poor COVID patients under home isolation through COVID Task Force, Kangpokpi on Thursday.
The MLA, who promises that no one goes hungry while combating the dreaded virus, entrusted the COVID Task Force of her constituency to identify daily wage earners among the positive patients under home isolation in their respective jurisdictions and assured of providing rice and dal to them.
Nemcha reached out to the identified daily wage earners among the COVID patients in Kangpokpi town and provided a bag of rice and dal each to them through the COVID Task Force Kangpokpi.
Noting that among the COVID patients, daily wage earners are the most affected people, she affirmed: "I will not let anybody go hungry while combating the dreaded virus" .
The MLA asked all the positive patients either in home isolation or at COVID Care Centre not to worry for their food but to stay mentally strong.
Nemcha also warned against discrimination of COVID patients and their families, saying that anyone found indulging in discriminating COVID patients and their families shall be reported to the authority concerned and appropriate action shall be initiated.
She also urged all to come forward and extend all possible aid to the COVID patients and their families through COVID Task Force of their respective areas and villages.
COVID Task Force Kangpokpi president Haolet Khongsai informed that his team, as instructed by the MLA, identified daily wage earners among the COVID patients within their jurisdiction and handed over the items on Thursday.
He further informed that three more positive cases were detected within Kangpokpi town on Thursday and their homes had been sealed by the task force and Kangpokpi police.
Home delivery service by women vegetable sellers within the containment zone has been restricted with immediate effect and any vegetable sellers found defying the restriction shall be put under home isolation in the containment zone, the task force leader warned.
The COVID Task Force Kangpokpi also cautioned denizens of Kangpokpi town not to loiter around without any valid reason or face the music of COVID Task Force.
Meanwhile, according to the official COVID situation report in the district, 15 new positive cases were detected in the past 24 hours while four recovered patients including two under home isolation and another two from Central Jail were discharged on Thursday as the total number of active cases has climbed to 77 .
