International Bio-resource Conclave concludes

A three-day International Bio-resource Conclave and Ethnopharmacology Congress of IBSD concluded here on Sunday at City Convention Centre.
During the valedictory programme, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati director Dr USN Murthy appreciated the initiative of IBSD director Prof Pulok K Mukherjee for conducting such mega event for the first time in Imphal on the development of bioresources and traditional medicines of NER.
DM University vice-chancellor Prof N Rajmohan Singh, who also attended the event, highlighted the importance of unique resources and traditional medicines of NER which were discussed by experts during this congress.
In the concluding remarks, CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat director Dr G Narahari Sastry highlighted the theme "Reimagine Ethnopharmacology: Globalisation of Traditional Medicine" which is very relevant to the ethnic diversity of NER.
He also congratulated all the young researchers awarded during the congress where more than 105 scientific lectures by eminent scientists and around 700 delegates representing over 35 countries and all the states of India attended.
ISE secretary Prof Marco Leonti congratulated IBSD for organising this event for the development of unique bioresources of Manipur in particular and whole NER at large.
Many participants shared their ideas about the congress and interacted with researchers, policymakers, industry persons, healthcare practitioners of this region.
All the event volunteers, coordinators, scientists and staffs of IBSD were also felicitated during the valedictory programme.
