Imphal, June 25 2022: A book entitled 'Khongjom Parvagee Ningthourol', re-written by Thoudam Jillangamba, has been released during a function held at the Khurai Chingabam Leikai residence of the writer on Saturday.

Retired IAS officer RK Nimai released the book at the function which was also attended by cultural activist Ningthouja Lancha.

In his speech, RK Nimai said that time has brought changes in Manipuri society but it is not good to have unrestricted changes.

It is quite offensive to see distortion of Manipuri traditional attires in the name of changes brought on by time, he said, adding that wearing of Khamen Chatpa or similar designs at occasions and events is one clear example of distortion of traditional attires and this must be checked.
