Anna Chalai wins EMEMEI Voice Hunt

The grand finale of the highly anticipated EMEMEI Voice Hunt 2024 concluded on December 21 at Chowainamei Khunou village ground.
Organised by Mao Music Association (MMA) in partnership with the Chakremei Youth Club and under the aegis of the Mao Council, the event featured 11 artistes selected from 28 participants following a rigorous audition process held on December 10 .
In his welcome address, MMA president Nikhini Kho-li Solomon highlighted the association s principles and objectives while extending a warm welcome to the guests, participants, and audience.
The event was held with N Athikho, president Mao Council, as chief guest.
In his keynote address, Athikho encouraged the youth to preserve and perform traditional songs amidst the rising popularity of modern music.
The competition unfolded in two rounds, culminating in the announcement of the winners by the panel of judges.
Hriiziiine Anna Chalai of Chowainamei Khunou village emerged as the winner of EMEMEI Voice Hunt 2024, receiving a cash prize of Rs 50.000, along with a certificate and an audio-visual recording contract.
Rachel Aruo of Tobumei village was named the 1st runner-up, earning Rs 40.000, a certificate, and an audio-visual recording contract, while Kayiso Kayina of Mayangkhang Khunou village secured the 2nd runner-up position carrying cash prize of Rs 30,000, a certificate, and an audio-visual recording contract.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Kaisii Stephen, secretary MMA, followed by closing remarks from Nikhini Daihrii, president Chakremei Youth Club.
