DISHA committee meeting for I/E wraps up

Imphal, March 23 2025: The 2-Day District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA)meetingfor Imphal East district concluded today at Panchayat Bhavan, Imphal East DC Office Complex, Porompat.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Member of Parliament for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and Chairperson of the DISHA Committee.

The last day of the meeting featured presentations on various National and State sponsored schemes and programmes by DLOs of different Government departments including Medical.

Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, PHED, CAF-PD, Transport, OBC & SC, DIC, DIO, DYASO, Handloom & Textile and SLEE.

Reviewing the progress of the initiatives, Dr Akoijam accentuated the significance of organising DISHA meetings on a quarterly basis.

He assured that such meeting serves two key purposes-facilitating stock trading and enhancing coordination among various Government departments in Manipur.

He stressed that the DISHA meeting should not become a mere formality but should be conducted at least four times every financial year.

Dr Akoijam also sought the cooperation of all stakeholders to perform their duties to the best of their abilities to bring about a positive change in the society.

He urged all the DLOs to maintain transparency and accountability in their work for the betterment of the district.

The MP further highlighted that the meeting placed special focus on key sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, and livelihood development, with discussions centered on improving the impact of these initiatives.

The meeting was attended by Khundrakpam AC MLA, Th Lokeshwar; Deputy Commissioner Imphal West, Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh; representatives of other Assembly Constituencies; nominees of the DISHA committee and DLOs.
