Imphal, July 21 2024:
Salam Global Education Consultant, a centre for guiding students keen to study medical courses in Bangladesh, has set up its office at SBI building, Kwakeithel.
MAHUD minister Y Khemchand opened the office in the presence of joint secretary (R & DMAR) A Shivdas Sharma, tourism director W Ibohal Singh, social welfare director Ng Uttam and other government officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Khemchand expressed that opening of the consultant's office will help students looking to study abroad and solve problems for parents in sending their children for medical studies in foreign countries.
He also said that the WHO recommends one doctor for every 1,000 people contrary to which India has one doctor for 10,000 people at present.
This gap could be bridged only when more students study medical both in the country and abroad including Bangladesh, he said.
