Kakching, November 20 2021:
While lauding the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to repeal the contentious three farm laws, Block Congress Committee, Kakching and District Congress Committee Kakching have highlighted the need to remain alert and said that BJP government is not going to repeal the farm laws for love of the farmers but due to fear of suffering defeat in the upcoming assembly polls.
Speaking to media persons at BCC Kakching office located at Kakching Bazar on Saturday, BCC Kakching president Kshetrimayum Ibohal recalled the intense protest launched against the forcible passing of the three farm laws in the Parliament in September, 2020 and death of many farmers during the course of the protest.
All these unfortunate incidents could have been averted had the government discussed with farmers before passing the three contentious bills.

The press conference was also attended by Kakching AC INC intending candidates Naorem Kobit and Kshetrimayum Kennedy, District Congress Committee Kakching president Elangbam Manglem, Block Mahila Congress Committee president Moirangthem Pishak, Kakching Municipal Council ex-chairperson Moirangthem Inakhunbi, ex-councillors M Memcha, M Uma, BBC Kakching advisor Pukhrambam Kunjo, vice president Sanatomba and general secretary Leishangthem Brojen.

Meanwhile, Kakching AC ex-MLA Y Surchandra, in a video release, lauded the announcement of PM Narendra Modi to repeal the farm bills.
With the announcement for repealing the farm laws even though it is late, the endurance of the farmers have become fruitful.
As the government started to hear the grievances of the farmers, it should fulfil the demand of implementing Minimum Support Price so as to mitigate the troubles faced by farmers in selling their produces, he urged.
