Imphal, October 18 2021: Theatre Centre Manipur is all set for the annual Manipur Theatre Day observance on October 21 at MDU hall, Imphal.

Regarding the event, Theatre Centre Manipur president Naba Wareppa said that Manipur Theatre Day will be observed on October 21 to coincide with World Theatre Day and Asian Theatre Day to be observed on the same day so that future generation could enjoy them.

He informed that altogether 154 organisations from different parts of Manipur are enrolled to Theatre Centre Manipur and it has been pressuring the government to give recognition.

He also announced that this year's S Lalit Ningshing Mana will be conferred to former union minister and Public Theatre Nambol veteran artiste Th Chaoba while Ksh Ibemchaobi Ningshing Mana will be conferred to Wangoi Dramatic Union director Huidrom Chandra Singh and Senjam Komol Ningshing Mana to artiste L Bhumeshwori.

All the awards carry Rs 10,000 cash plus a citation and a shawl each, he added.
