Jiribam Meetei village attacked for 9th time

Jiribam, September 18 2024: Suspected Kuki militants continued to attack Mongbung Meetei village for the ninth time on Wednesday afternoon.

After the suspected militants first fired several rounds and bombs at Mongbung Meetei village located between Mongbung and Seijang Kuki villages of Jiribam district around 7pm Tuesday, another attack was carried out at the same village around 12.15 am Wednesday.

Village volunteers of Mongbung Meetei and state forces already deployed in the area retaliated the attack.

At about 2 pm on Wednesday, another heavy exchange ensued with reports of probable casualties on the militants' side.

Meanwhile, the militants launched another round of attack including using bombs at the village at around 7 pm .
