Kangpokpi, June 17 2024:
Kuki Revolutionary Army-Unification (KRA-U), an armed group bound by the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement, has reunited with its parent organisation, KRA-U under the fold of United People's Front (UPF) .
KRA-U/KNO, a faction formed within KRA-U/UPF in 2012, initially joined the KNO's armed wing and stationed at T Gamnom designated camp alongside KRA and KLO/KLA under KNO's 7th Battalion after signing the SoO pact with the government.
KRA-U/KNO former chief Lamkhopao alias Papao Chongloi, presently vice president of KRA-U/UPF, said that KRA-U/KNO had disagreements with KRA/KNO on various issues.
Despite efforts to resolve these differences, unresolved issues persisted, posing threat to the organisation's survival and growth alongside KRA.
Due to these internal conflicts, KRA-U decided to sever ties with KRA/KNO on December 20, 2023, and rejoin its parent organisation, he said, while adding that the decision to reunite is aimed at fostering the organisation's healthy growth and promote cooperation with the government.
He urged the government to recognise their merger with the parent organisation.
