Imphal, June 17 2022: The High Court of Manipur has scheduled the date of hearing the election petition filed by ex-MLA of Kshetrigao assembly constituency Nahakpam Indrajit against MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan on July 6.The court of Justice MV Muralidaran heard the petition on Friday.

The first hearing was conducted on June 13.In the petition, the ex-MLA accused the MLA of furnishing false information in the latter's election affidavit submitted to the chief electoral officer, Manipur and prayed foe nullifying membership of Sheikh Noorul from the Manipur Legislative Assembly.

During hearing of the petition on Friday, respondent no 3 Poonam Rani failed to appeared before the court and'the court directed to remove her name from the cause list and treat her as ex-parte.
