TPYA observes Patriots' Day, fetes TPC reporter

Takyel Khongbal Progressive Youth Association (TPYA) Club on Saturday honoured The People's Chronicle reporter Sagolsem Bigyan, who has won numerous awards in journalism, with presentation of a memento and a honorary stole (Lengyan) in a function held at Naoremtheng Khumanthem Leikai.
The Club also observed Patriots' Day and felicitated meritorious students of Class X and XII examinations.
Mention may be made here that Bigyan was selected by Central Agricultural University Public Relations & Media Management Cell for a Fellowship on "Application of science in Agriculture-2022".He is also the recipient of various awards including Bold & Brave Journalist Award 2020-21 presented by Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA); State Journalist Award (Women and Child Reporting 2019) by DIPR; Kangabam Chaoba Memorial PACRECPA Society Journalist Award 2018 by Panthoibi Cultural Research For Performing Arts (PACRECPA) Society; State Journalist Award (Rural Reporting 2018) by DIPR; Best Reporter Award on Crime Against Women From Gender Perspective, 2017 by Women Action For Development (WAD); and Manipur Alliance For Child Rights (MACR) Award, 2017 .
The function was also attended by Sahitya Akademi awardee Lamabam Biramani Singh as chief guest, TPYA president Hijam Devachandra Singh as president and local elders Ayekpam Dijen Meitei, Yambem Brajamohan Singh, Yumlembam Modhuchandra Singh and Laikangbam Dhaneshwor Singh as guests of honour.
