Death toll reaches 18 in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, June 12 2021:
The death toll due to Covid-19 in Ukhrul district has reached 18 after a 97-year-old patient succumbed to the infectious disease in the town on Saturday.
The deceased Ramyo Hongray reportedly died at his house in Greenland Tang of Hunphun village.
Subsequently, the district magistrate issued an order declaring the residence of the deceased as containment zone.
The DM also issued separate orders to declare two residential areas at Rayotang and Ham- leikhong Block E localities and one at Pharung village as containment zone following detection of seven new positive cases on Saturday.
According to a report from the district surveillance office, the district's tally of active cases stands at 38, after three patients were discharged on Saturday.
Among them are 23 at Transit Camp CCC, 13 at UDH Isolation Ward and two at Leisan community isolation centre.
With Saturday's detection of fresh cases, the total number of positive cases has reached 433, it said, adding that 14 patients have been referred out of the district.
