Imphal, October 11 2024:
While clarifying that it is unrelated with commencement of peace talks between the government and some armed groups as reported in the media on September 30, 2024, the armed Kangleipak Communist Party-People's War Group (Marxist Centre) maintained that with exception on the sovereignty issue it will not engaged in peace parleys with the Government of India.
According to a statement of KCP-PWG (MC), government machineries in collusion with reactionary elements are trying to erase communist movement in Manipur through formation of pseudo-revolutionary groups.
These groups having ideology in total contrast to communist ideology formed many micro-gangs and indulged in extortion from public thereby tarnishing the image of the revolutionaries fighting to restore the lost sovereignty of the people of Manipur.
It also stated that the ongoing violence is being capitalised by some ministers and MLAs to form pseudo-revolutionary groups or gangs.
While warning of announcing the names of such ministers/MLAs, the outfit maintained that the decision taken by Strategic Core Committee (SCC) not to hold peace talks with the Government of India except on sovereignty issue remains unchanged.
It also clarified that the KCP-PWG has nothing to do with closure of electronic item shop, Mazo Hub.
