JAC alleges preferential disbursement of salaries

Imphal, August 11 2022: Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) has urged chief minister N Biren to stop preferential disbursement of monthly salaries of state government employees.

In a letter addressed to the CM on Thursday, JAC of AMTUC & AMGEO president Ch Chandrama -ni Singh demanded evenly and timely disbursement of monthly salaries of working government employees and for immediate payment of pension and pensionary benefits to retired government employees.

In spite of JAC's earnest and humble request for stopping the preferential treatment in the matter of disbursement of salaries, the government still continues its practice of pref-erential/selective disbursement of monthly salaries for select departments/offices.

For instance, employees of Manipur Secretariat Services and Home Department are given preferential treatment over other departments, it alleged.

"We also don't expect that the government will resort to divide & rule Policy among state Government employees," the JAC said.

Stating that it views the matter seriously, the JAC also urged the government to resolve the matter immediately failing which, it cautioned, that the employee members might resort to cease work strike as intimated earlier without any further notice.
