Imphal, December 10 2023:
Stating that there are reports of some individuals or groups of individuals collecting fund of Rs 1000 to Rs 3000 each from beneficiaries of housing and low cost sanitary latrine schemes in IMC areas under Thangmeiband assembly constituency, Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) has appealed to beneficiaries to inform the organisation if they come across such demands.
Addressing a press meet at the relief camp located at Khoyathong, TAKDO president Khullem Nobokumar said that the organisation has been working to curb corruption in the constituency since its inception 15 years ago.
It is unacceptable for some individuals to collect fund from the approved beneficiaries for releasing the scheme fund while local MLA Kh Joykisan had asked all concerned including IMC officials to refrain from any corrupt practices, he said.
Nobokumar also urged the beneficiaries to inform TAKDO if they are yet to receive the fund.
NFSA beneficiaries can also visit TAKDO office for duplicate cards or to add names of family members in their cards, on or before December 13 .
TAKDO women's wing general secretary Sundari Loitongbam, who also attended the press meet, urged families eligible for free LPG connections under Ujjwala Scheme to visit its office along with ration cards to apply for benefits of the scheme.
