Kangpokpi, June 10 2021:
As part of its humanitarian service during this pandemic, Thadou Students' Association Sadar Hills on Thursday embarked on feeding COVID patients from far-flung areas admitted to COVID Care Centre at Leikop.
TSA Sadar Hills after its awareness campaign on COVID vaccination in remote areas and other COVID-related activities, decided to help the patients from far-flung areas admitted to CCC Leikop considering the hardships faced by them in arranging or accessing mess service.
Since there is no provision for mess service at the Leikop CCC, the patients have to arrange food on their own.
TSA Sadar Hills, therefore, decided to help those from the far-flung area having problems in arranging food after contributions by the association's members.
With the humanitarian service of TSA Sadar Hills, COVID patients from far- flung area staying at the COVID Care Centre are now at ease.
The students' body, however, is now worried as most of their food stock have finished.
On learning about the situation, a local journalist along with few police officers of Kangpokpi including ASP (LO) Lalminlen Misal, OC Kangpokpi PS inspector Henminthang, 2nd OC Kangpokpi PS Lamminthang Vaiphei, ASP (LO) reader Hegin and few friends from the 1997 batch of KT Higher Secondary School visited the catering centre of TSA Sadar Hills and provided financial aid to the students' body to ensure continuation of its humanitarian service.
Lamminsei Sitlhou and Lalboi Lhouvum, in charge of TSA Sadar Hills mess catering centre, expressed profound gratitude to the visiting team for their financial assistance.
Lalboi Lhouvum, secretary TSA Sadar Hills, said that the association had received donation/contribution from like-minded people and leaders during this pandemic and as such desisted from seeking any help.
"However, since our food stock could not last for long, I informed my friend circle about our situation and they didn't hesitate to help us in their capacity and I am deeply happy for having such good friends who always ready to help for humanity, he added.
The TSA leader also assured that "by any means we will continue to feed the patients from far-flung area and make them feel at home" .
