Karam Shyam exhorts youth to become job providers

Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam has called upon the youth of the constituency to adopt the right approach in pursuing edu cation so that students no longer view education as a means to secure government jobs hut to develop their personality and widen knowledge to become a better human being and bring a better society.
Attending an interaction programme held on the theme of 'Instilling the idea of self-reliance among the youth' organised by Youth Development Council Langthabal at Chajing Mairenkhong community hall on Sunday, the MLA called upon the youth of Langthabal AC to work towards making the constituency the best in terms of social development and number of entrepreneurs.
While stating that since the last term, he provided interest free loan to 60 select youths from different parts of the state to support their entrepreneurial journey so that they could not only generate income for themselves but also create jobs for others, the MLA pointed out that the government alone cannot guarantee jobs to all the educated youth and as such people with entrepreneurial mindset should come forward and create jobs.
Entrepreneurs have major role to play in saving the youth of the state from the menace of drugs, he said and assured of his assistance to such youth, who have firm commitment of becoming job creators.
He, however, said that those youth who would want to get his support to begin their entrepreneurship journey should not use any kind of drugs or intoxicants.
They should have good character, moral, integrity and commitment.
One should not blame their parents for their financial position but they should learn to stand on their own feet and become successful people, he said and added that he will keep his promise made to the youth of his constituency before the election.
Several successful entrepreneurs interacted with the participating youth at the event and shared their experiences, apart from imparting guidance so as to become successful entrepreneurs.
Youth Development Council President Y Bungcha Luwang, Sahitya Akademi awardee Birendrajit Naorem, social activist Th Deban Sharma and Central Committee Langthabal AC vice-president Naorem Ibohalbi were also present during the programme.
