UCM office bearers take oath

The new office bearers of United Committee Manipur (UCM) appointed for the term 2024-2027 were administered oath at Lainingthou Sanamahi Shanglen, Haying Khongbal Uphong Yumpham, here, on Monday by UCM consultative member Yumnamcha Dilip kumar.
The newly elected office bearers are president YK Dhiren (UPF), vice-president Khuraijam Athouba (IPSA), secretary general Shanta Nahakpam (ACOAM Lup), secretary organisation Dipanjit Ningthoujam (NIP-CO), secretary (information & public relations) Soibam Anil (UPF), secretary women's affairs I Bimola (Kanglamei), and secretary community affairs Alanpuna Dangmei.
Speaking at the event, YK Dhiren recounted the formation of UCM in 2001 when the state faced threat to its territorial integrity.
Since then, UCM has been standing firm for the unity and integrity of Manipur, he said, while assuring to uphold the objectives of the committee.
While accusing the Government of India of continuously scheming to disintegrate the state, he called for unity among the people for a strong and united Manipur so as to thwart any attempt to balkanise the state.
