World Physiotherapist Day celebrated

Indian Association of Physiotherapist, Women Cell, Manipur state and Samvardhi Niyash, Manipur Prant (SNMP) jointly celebrated World Physiotherapist Day at Brahmapur Mandap, Yaiskul police lane Thursday.
The celebration function was attended by Indian Association of Physiotherapist, Women Cell, Manipur state coordinator Dr Angom Rita, social worker Rajib Sharma, YVO Yaiskul vice president Takhellambam Rashmani, Yaiskul Women's Welfare Association secretary Leimapokpam Ongbi Shanti Devi, SNMP in-charge co-convener A Umamani, SNMP horticulture leader N Jaymati Devi, SNMP women's creativity leader Dr RK Sujata and SNMP Yoga and Ayush division leader S Surnalata as presidium members.
In her speech at the event, Dr Angom Rita said Indian Association of Physiotherapist, Women Cell, Manipur has been creating awareness to people particularly among women about physiotherapy and how it could help women recover from different diseases they encounter in life.
Osteoarthritis is one disease common to both men and women when they cross 40/50 years of age but meditation and physiotherapy in early stage of the disease could save the suffering person.
Physiotherapy can be done self but many of the patients suffering from osteoarthritis consult physio therapist only when they are paralysed and do physiotherapy for movement, she said adding that physiotherapy can save life of many people but this awareness seems to be lacking among people.
