Wildlife awareness prog held, prizes distributed

A wildlife awareness programme under the theme 'Wildlife Conservation through Co-existence' was organised by Thoubal Forest Division in connection with the 70th Wildlife Week 2024 on Monday at the office complex of the Division, where prizes of various competitions conducted during observance of the week were distributed.
The programme was attended by Range Forest Officer (RFO), Thoubal Dineschandra Salam, Kakching RFO Laishram Dinesh, and RFO Ningthoujam Deepa of the Forest Department head office as the presidium members.
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) member Dr Khangembam Shamungou, and Wildlife Explorers Manipur president Kh Brajesh attended the event as resource persons.
In the essay competition for students of Class IX to XII, Linthoi Chanu Waikhom and Zuleyka Asem of Fancier Higher Secondary School won the first and second position respectively, while Morningson Sapam of Vision Creative of Science secured the third prize.
Athoibi Khundrakpam, Bhavani Thokchom, and Th Bidyashree, all of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, clean swept the top three positions in essay competition for students of Class V to VII .
In the spot painting competition for Class IX to X, Jonish Konthoujam of Grace Cottage Academy secured the top spot, followed by Satyazeet Loitongbam of Evergreen Flower s School in second place, and Newton Hijam of Grace Cottage Academy in third.
In spot painting competition for Class V to VII, M Tolen and Eunice Y of Grace Cottage Academy wrested the first and second position respectively, while Aditi Thingujam of Evergreen Flower's School took the third place.
