Five persons, including woman, nabbed with drugs

A team of NAB PS arrested one person along with 1 lakh WY tablets around 12:30 pm on Tuesday.
The arrested person has been identified as Lunkhohen Haokip (29) s/o Ngulsei Haokip from N Boijang village, Kangpokpi.
According to a report, a team of NAB PS deployed at Ngariyan village on Old Cachar Road halted a TATA Sumo (MN02/9715) for checking and recovered WY tablets from inside its fuel tank.
Upon questioning, the vehicle occupant revealed that the WY tablets were being transported to Jiribam and Cachar from Moreh via Tongjei Maril.
A ease has been registered by NAB PS regarding the seizure, the report said.
On the other hand, another team of NAB PS nabbed four persons, including a woman and recovered drugs including heroin and SP capsule around 10:30 am on Tuesday.
The arrested persons have been identified as Nelson Yengkhom (19) s/o Y Deben of Lilong Chajing Konjeng Leikail, Md Kh Khomei (35) s/o Md Sharuddin of Kyamgei Konyaithabi, Nongyaimayum Raftque Ali (31) s/o Md Nasib Ali and Nongyaimayum Taslima (30) w/o Wahid Khan of Lilong Khunou.
It is said that NAB team nabbed Nelson and Khomei from near Lilong Thong and recovered 200 milligram of heroin.
Upon questioning, the duo revealed that they procured the drug from Asian Pharmacy located at Lilong Khunou.
Acting on the information, team of NAB and Thoubal Police conducted search of the pharmacy located at Kakching Khunou.
During the search, the team recovered 42 plastic vials suspected to contain heroin, seven SP capsules, two soap caps used for packing heroin, 457 empty plastic vials and Rs 13,000 in cash.
The team also arrested the owners Raftque and his partner Taslima.
A case has been registered by NAB PS in relation to the incident and further investigations is ongoing, the report added.
