Two-day ICAMA-2024 underway at MU

Imphal, December 06 2024:
Department of Mathematics, Manipur University inaugurated a two-day International Conference on Advances in Mathematics and its Application (ICAMA-2024)' at the Court Hall of the University on Friday.
The inaugural function was attended by varsity's vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra Singh as chief guest, Department of Mathematics head Prof O Ratnabala Devi as president; School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences MU dean Prof Sumitra Phanjoubam and Imam Khomeini International University, Iran, Department of Pure Mathematics Prof Abdolrahman Razani as guest of honour.
In his speech, Prof Lokendra said that mathematics is the basis for the progress of human civilisation and plays a crucial role in most of disciplines concerning the natural world and innovations.
He urged the participating students, research scholars and faculty members to leverage the knowledge they gain during the conference to develop new applications.
As part of the conference, a book titled "Book of Abstract" was released.
The conference is being attended by 28 talkers in 28 different sessions.
