State native takes charge as Deputy CAG

Angam Chand Singh of Khagempalli in Imphal West district has become the first from Manipur to be appointed as the deputy Comptroller & Auditor General of India.
An IA&AS officer of the 1987 batch, Angam Chand, born to (L) L Gopal Singh and (L) RK Kadarabini Devi is an alumnus of St Stephen's College, Delhi; Faculty of Law, Delhi University; Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore; and Maxwell School, Syracuse University New York.
Prior to the current assignment he was serving as additional deputy CAG and is said to be one of the youngest officers to be posted as Deputy/Joint Director (Audit) in the Embassy of India, Washington DC, which had audit coverage of all Indian Embassies/Consulates in North and South America, Apart from serving in Audit and Accounts divisions in different states and central institutions, he also served as Civil Affairs Officer in the United Nations Organisation and has the distinction of being the only officer in the history of IA&AD to serve both the assignments before attaining the grade of Accountant General.
His audit jurisdiction as Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General will cover 30 ministries, three departments, numerous constitutional bodies of the government of India and audit over 300 autonomous bodies including that units of AIIMS, IIT and IIM, UGC, etc.
