State duo held in Nagaland with drugs

Nagaland Police arrested two people from Manipur namely David Jamkholun Baite (27) and Thongminthang (31), both residents of Tengnoupal district, for carrying suspected banned drugs.
According to Nagaland Police, based on specific input, personnel of the Nagaland Police Narcotic Cell Mobile Unit intercepted a Guwahati-bound vehicle (Renault Duster), which was coming from Imphal, near Peducha in Kohima on Friday at around 1 am.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 100,000 suspected Yaba tablets (WY), wrapped in 10 different packets containing 10,000 tablets each, and concealed inside a specially built compartment near the spare tyre, the police also said.
According to the police, approximate value of the recovered items is around Rs 20 lakh.
The suspected contraband items have been duly seized and two occupants of the vehicle arrested, the police mentioned.
A case has been registered for further investigation, the police further added.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police and Moirang PS arrested a man with heroin at around 3.20 pm on Saturday.
The arrested man has been identified as Md Ibomacha Khan (22) s/o Md Kiyamuddin of Kwakta Selba Ward no 1.He is an auto rickshaw driver.
Around 119 gm of heroin packed inside 9 soap cases were recovered from his auto rickshaw.
According to a police report, the combined team arrested Ibomacha from Kwakta area.
On questioning, he revealed that the soap cases containing heroin belonged to one Md Abdul Rahaman (38) s/o (L) Ibothem Rahaman of Kwakta Ward no 1.Police have launched a search operation to arrest Abdul Rahman.
Moirang PS has registered a case against Ibomacha and further investigation is underway.
