Imphal, December 01 2024:
Shiv Sena, Manipur has demanded constitution of a fact finding committee to investigate the missing of Laishram Kamalbabu from the campus of 57th Mountain Division, Leimakhong.
Addressing media persons at its Babupara office, Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi said the party takes the missing case of Kamalbabu very seriously.
As Kamalbabu went missing from the highly secured army camp on November 25, it could be safely stated lives of civilians are unsafe even inside army camp, he said and urged state government to constitute a fact finding committee to investigate as to how and why Kamalbabu cannot be traced.
According to M Tombi, Manipur got freedom from the British one day ahead of India in 1949 .
However, Manipur was merged into the Indian Union in 1949 with the people still feeling agitated on signing of the Merger Agreement under duress.
He also stated that the call for imposition of President's Rule (PR) from neighbouring state particularly Mizoram is akin to adding fuel to the fire as well as with the nefarious intention to distort history and traditional territory of Manipur.
