FASII branch opened in state

With the main objective of developing small scale/micro and medium industries, Federation of Associations of Small Industries of India (FASII) has opened its branch in the state and also appointed oifice bearers on Friday.
FASII head for Manipur and other states Hakikat Singh informed media persons at Manipur Press Club here that FASII was established in the year 1959 with its office opened by late President Dr Radhakrishnan in 1963.The Federation works mainly on public policy, incubation services, skill and training, corporate social responsibility, social outreach and grievance redressal.
There are around 42.50 small, micro and medium industries in India and this sector provides highest number of jobs after agriculture in the country, he said, adding that there are around 7700 small scale industries in Manipur.
Though agriculture is the main occupation for people of the state, small industries help in creating jobs in a big way and hence opened a branch of FASII in the state, Hakikat Singh said, adding that Y Neelamani and Victor Danii have been appointed general secretary and secretary respectively of the branch.
According to Y Neelamani, FASII opened a branch in Manipur to develop small scale industries and also to help in promotion of this sector.
The Federation will help workers in getting benefits they are entitled to get from the government, he assured.
