Noney, August 26 2021:
Due to non-motorable road and inclement weather, the COVID vaccinators in Noney district are facing an enormous challenge in trying to cover the unreached villages.
On Thursday, a COVID vaccination team led by Dr Jendum Golmei, district immunisation officer Noney, reached out to Chingmei Kabui (Pungsanmai) village under Khoupum sub-division, Noney district.
The road connecting the village is still non-motorable and is remotest part of the district.
The medical team had to walk for about four hours to reach the village and conducted an 'Outreach COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Drive cum Health Check-up' at Chingmei Kabui Primary School.
It is said that the distance between Khoupum and Chingmei Kabui (Pungsanmai) village is 17 km.
During the vaccination drive, 15 people of 18 plus age group were inoculated while more than 30 people including old, pregnant and lactating mothers and children were given health check-up and provided free medicines.
