Outgoing UCM president Sunil Karam, consultative members Yumnamcha Dilipkumar and L Jadu attended the meeting as presidium members.
Altogether 25 office bearers for the new term were elected.
Among them Joychandra Konthoujam (IPSA) was elected as president, YK Dhiren (UPF) as vice-president, Ngangom Dev Meetei (NIPCO) as general secretary, Nahakpam Shanta (ACOAM Lup) as secretary organisation, Nongmaithem Jiban (NIPCO) as secretary finance, Leishemba Lamaba (PANDM) as secretary IPR, RK Radhesana (AMKIL) as secretary women's affairs, and RK Mangisana (UPF) as secretary HRD.
Later, Yumnamcha Dilipkumar administered oath to the newly elected office bearers.
Meanwhile, interacting with media, newly elected UCM president Joychan-dra recounted how the Government of India and NSCN-IM extended their ceasefire agreement into the state and it resulted in the June 18 public movement.
The public outrage dashed the dream of NSCN-IM to form a greater Nagalim by integrating Naga inhabited areas of Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar into Nagaland.
However, the attempt is very much alive today and they are trying to bring another government within the state of Manipur.
UCM has been fighting this threat since 2001 and will continue the fight for the unity, integrity and identity of the state, he said and conveyed that UCM is always open to suggestions from the public.
