Imphal, February 26 2023: One Aheibam Nandakumar has claimed to have evidences of misuse of fund sanctioned for taking up developmental works under Khonghampat gram Panchayat.

Addressing media persons at Khonghampat on Sunday, Aheibam Nandakumar, who identified self as a social activist, said that evidences of misuse of funds have come to light in response to an RTI application in connection with the developmental works taken up in Khonghampat gram Panchayat area.

When compared with information provided as reply to the RTI application, vast differences in the works reportedly done and the actual works implemented on the ground have been detected.

The sanitary drain which is claimed to have been constructed in Khonghampat ward number 14 has not been constructed.

The community pond also claimed as constructed in Koubru Lai Lampak ward number 1 under the 14th finance is also nowhere to be seen.

Moreover, only one out of the two waiting sheds said to have been constructed in Khamaral and Khamaral Awang Leikai near crematorium in ward number 6 can be seen.

He thus urged authority concerned to look into the matter and pull up those officials involved in misuse of public funds.
