Lucy Chisa Mao remembered on her 15th death anniv

Senapati District Consumers' Club {SDCC) on Monday observed the 15th death anniversary of Lucy Chisa Mao, a member of Action Committee, SDCC at Kaibi village in Senapati district.
The former leader succumbed to injuries at Dibrugarh Hospital on this day in 2006 following an accident at Tinsukia, Assam while on duty.
The event was organised in remembrance of her supreme sacrifice and heroic deeds in pursuance of public welfare of the district.
While calling the accident as tragic, Paul Leo, advisor of SDCC, stated that Lucy Mao was a dedicated worker and strong advocate of people's right and welfare.
According to SDCC vice president Aridzii John, her supreme sacrifice has been written in the hearts of the people of the district and she was an inspiration to many in the held of social Work while Karong Senapati Town Committee president A John lauded SDCC's stands for rights of the people of the district and thanked the club for taking up different challenges for the welfare of people.
Corrupt practices have been banned through operations by the district consumers' club in different ways, he added.
Lucy's daughter Kayie Christine expressed gratitude to the SDCC for still remembering her mother even after 15 years by organising such an event, and added that her mother would be shilling from above and showering her love upon each and everyone present in the programme.
Wreath laying by Karong Sen-apati Town Committee (KSTC), Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA), Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) and others marked the event, during which a one-minute silent prayer was offered in honour of the departed soul.
Different social leaders, church leaders and Mao Naga Women Welfare Association were present at the event.
