Tamenglong, October 22 2021:
In view of the upcoming state legislative assembly election, newly posted deputy commissioner of Tamenglong Hungyo Worshang chaired the first district level officers' meeting at the SDO conference hall, Tamenglong headquarters, on Friday.
Altogether 18 specific assignments for nodal officers were allocated for the election.
During the meeting, the district election officer (DC Tamenglong) instructed the police department of the district to start preparing for deployment of police and central paramilitary forces at various polling stations.
The deputy commissioner also instructed the district PWD department to check the road conditions in interior parts of Tamenglong district before the election.
As the election is most probably going to be held during the dry spell, the DC also told the PHE Department of Tamenglong to arrange water supply at the mini secretariat as most of the government officials as well as police personnel are going to be stationed around that area.
Depositing of licensed guns and arrangement of vehicles for the election 2022 were discussed briefly during the meeting.
With Covid situation still remaining a threat and in view of paramilitary forces coming from different states, the DC also advised all the government officials and staffers to get vaccinated at the earliest.
The meeting also decided to issue an order to deposit air guns of the nearby villages as it is the roosting season of Amur Falcons.
Various government departments of the district also presented brief progress reports during the meeting.
