Scholarship scheme 'Nurturing Future Leaders' launched

Konthoujam Gojendro Trust (KGT) in coordination with JECI-IAS, New Checkon launched a scholarship scheme named Nurturing Future Leaders' aimed at providing opportunities to meritorious students of the state particularly IAS and competitive exam aspirants who could not afford to join coaching class.
The scholarship scheme was launched on Thursday at the residence of Bishnupur ex-MLA Govindas Konthoujam where KGT and JECI-IAS, New Checkon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The launch function was attended by Govindas, JECI director Amarjit Angom, educationist RK Bishwanath Singh, ZP Imphal West CEO L Manikanta Singh and KGT treasurer K Biren Singh as presidium members.
During the function, L Manikanta talked on importance of good guidelines in preparation to crack civil services exam as a resource person while Amarjit Angom said that the coaching institute has produced many successful candidates in various competitive exams and the institute will put every possible effort to provide fruitful result to all those who join the institute.
KGT chairman and ex-MLA Govindas said that education is important for ushering in a peaceful society and based on this thought Konthoujam Gojendra Trust was established in the name of his late father before joining politics.
The Trust has taken up many projects including providing education opportunities to meritorious students belonging to BPL families who could not afford to further their education career.
Another key project of the trust is conduct of free revision class for class X appearing students every year since 2013 .
The trust also provides free educa tion to students from Bishnupur assembly constituency who clear medical and engineering exams conducted by state government, he said adding that more than 1000 students belonging to BPL families have been provided opportunities by the Trust so far.
