Senapati college celebrates World Poetry Day

Senapati, March 21 2025: Department of English, Mount Everest College, Senapati celebrated its first World Poetry Day under the theme "Poetry as a bridge for peace and Inclusion" on Friday.

The celebration aims to highlight poetry's unique ability to inspire people across cultures to share their views, promote dialogue and foster understanding.

The main highlight of the celebration included an Inter-Departmental Poetry Recitation Competition, which Angelina Thek of Sociology department bagged the first position, Jianreilung Malangmei of Botany Department and Sundayrose Phumai of Teacher Education Department shared the second prize, and Ng Dziipane Lanah of English Department secured the third position.

The organisers also presented poems to all the invitees in specially handcrafted scrolls.
