Imphal, May 20 2021:
With the aim of assessing the difficulties faced by the states in curbing the Covid-19 pandemic, BJP national president JP Nadda held a video conference with leaders of non-BJP parties as well as Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs of the state on Thursday.
Conveying the advice given during the video conference, RK Ranjan said that Nadda enquired about any new innovative policy taken up by the MPs in their respective states and the difficulties faced by the hospitals with regard to patient care and death.
He (Nadda) also advised for making the opposition clarify on the rude statements made against the steps taken up by PM Modi to combat the pandemic.
The national president further advised the MPs to assess the status of district hospitals and district administrations in their respective constituencies, urging for the same to be done in the next 2-3 days.
"Many people have also been contributing to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Recently, one Tomba from Thoubal donated Rs 10,000, along with a Teachers' Association and private citizens.
Another Manipuri based in USA donated Rs 50,000 for the first phase, while Banaras-based Aerocity Company has assured of sending in vaccines, medicines, sanitisers and kits.
The items, once brought to the state, will be distributed after consulting with the Chief Minister", the MP informed.
Ranjan continued: "Several others including Seva International, Japanese Embassy and UNDP have been extending aid to the northeastern states via the DoNER ministry.
The CM has requested the same for the state and it is believed will be delivered soon.
MPs of other states are also extending necessary materials and preparations are being made to distribute the same" .
Stating that insulting the PM in this huge struggle is, in reality, an attempt to insult the nation; the MP urged all concerned to stop trying to gain political mileage amid the pandemic instead of helping the people.
