Seminar on Manipuri language conducted

Yangambam Kumar (YK) College, Wangjing organised a seminar on 'Historical aspects of Manipuri language' (Manipuri Longi Puwarigioiba Tongan Tonganba Mityengsing) at the mini conference hall of the college on Saturday.
The inaugural session of the seminar was attended by YK College principal Dr S Giri, N Birahari College (Khundrakpam) principal Dr Ng Ekashini Devi and Kha-Manipur College (Kakching) senior assistant professor Dr T Kunjakishore as presidium members.
During the seminar conducted in different sessions, assistant professor Dr H Narendra of Janta College, Assam presented a paper on 'Assam Da Manipuri Lol: Asha Amasung Singnaba' while head of Manipuri department of SR College, Assam Dr Abdul Kheir Choudhuri presented a paper on 'Meitei Pangal Khunnai Da Meiteilol Gi Phibam'.

Oriental College, Imphal also presented a paper on 'Meiteilol Semgatpa Amasung Chaokhatlakpa: Anganba Matam Dagi 17 Suba Chahi Cha Phaobagi Matam' in the first session moderated by Dr Ng Ekashini.
In the second session on 'Manipuri Lol Gi Honglakliba Masak (19 amadi 20 suba chahi cha) moderated by associate professor RK Brojendro of YK College, assistant professor Dr Th Arunkumar of DM College of Arts presented a paper on 'Chingthang Khomba Maharaj Ganga Chatpa Khut-ee Amasung Lol'.
Teachers of several colleges, proponents of Manipuri language and students took part in the seminar held in four sessions that continued till late afternoon.
