Imphal, February 18 2025:
Federal Students' Organisation of Kangleipak (FESOK) Celebrated its 3rd foundation day on the theme Knowledge for Challenge' at JN Dance Academy auditorium on Tuesday.
The celebration was attended by Manipur University Department of South East Asian Studies head professor Chinglen Maisnam, Dhanamanjuri University dean of students' welfare Prof Th Rabikanta, Department of Political Science associate professor Dr Arambam Noni and FESOK president Kangujam Amarjit as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Chinglen pointed out that as most of the items and products used in Manipur are brought from other states or imported from neighbouring countries, there is urgent need for collective efforts to prevent collapse of the local economy and major companies dictating price in the state.
While fighting such giants, sharing ideas and forging unity are essential precondition, without which all efforts will be futile, he cautioned.
Stating that Manipur is regressing instead of making headway in joining others in the race for development, he also expressed that an organisation or entity could be strengthened only when they have a clear vision about the change they desire.
An organisation will inevitably fail when it believes there is no longer a need to learn from the people, but rather a need to teach them, he remarked.
Prof Chinglen Maisnam further stated that without learning, moving forward is impossible.
Moreover struggle must go hand in hand with study.
A student organisation is not defined by struggle alone, nor is a good student made by academics alone.
Both struggle and study are essential, he maintained.
