ZKL lauds BIPL for quality road job

Imphal, January 18 2022:
The Zingsho Katamnao Long (ZKL), an apex student organisation of the eastern Tangkhuls, conveyed its gratitude to Bhartia Infra Projects Limited (BIPL) for construction of the Kamjong-Huimin Thana road adhering to the highest level of standard and quality, and for undertaking various community assistance programmes in the bordering villages.
A statement issued by its president Ngachan thing A Shipo said: "The ZKL had undertaken a minute inspection of the road project and found it to be satisfactory on all fronts, while considering it to be the finest road ever constructed in the border areas of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts".
It noted that the 37-km road project started in 2020 at an estimated cost of Rs 107.39 crore under Rehabilitation of and Up-gradation of Road from Kamjong to Kongkan Thana via Pilong.
The project was funded by North Eastern Council (NEC), Ministry of DoNER.
The route connects key international border points with all-weather road from Kamjong to Huimin Thana, and is expected to accelerate cross border trade between India, Myanmar and other southeast Asian countries, it said.
The ZKL also acknowledged that BIPL has taken up different community assistance programmes for border areas including inter village roads, playgrounds, drainages and other forms of assistance.
Further, it thanked the BIPL for extending numerous assistance towards the student activities and its 47th ZKL general Conference cum Sports, Literary and Cultural meet scheduled to be held from January 19-28 at Shungri, Phungyar Block, Kamjong District.
