First-aid training programme concludes

The two-day first-aid training programme for volunteers of Junior Red Cross and Youth Red Cross jointly organised by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Kakching branch and Indian Red Cross Society Manipur concluded at Grace Cottage Cultural and Educational Development Foundation/Grace Cottage Academy, here, on Sunday.
The Valedictory function of the training programme which was held as part of the World First Aid Day was attended by MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar, who is also patron member of IRCS, Kakching, and IRCS Manipur state chairman Narendra Ningomba as chief guest and president respectively.
IRCS, Kakching chairman Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar and vice chairman Moirangthem Manihar were also present as members on the dais.
During the training, IRCS, Imphal West secretary and first-aid Trainer Dr Thokchom Bakimchandra and his team provided inputs on first aid to a total of 56 volunteers from Junior Red Cross Unit of Martin Grammar School, Kakching, Grace Cottage Cultural and Educational Development Foundation/Grace Cottage Academy and Youth Red Cross Unit from Kha Manipur College, Kakching.
As a part of the function, the trainees staged first-aid mock drill, and certificates distributed to them.
MLA Rameshwar donated Rs 10,000 to IRCS Kakching branch and also pledged to assist in procuring an ambulance for the branch.
