Bishnupur, April 15 2018:
Moirang Block Congress Committee today condemned alleged excavation of land/soil from Chingei Lampak (ground) and appealed the local MLA P Sharatchandra Singh to renovate and improve the said ground for the greater good of the local people especially sport enthusiasts and children.
Speaking to media persons at the office of the Moirang Block Congress Committee (MBCC), M Sarat Singh, general secretary MBCC, said the aged ground, Chingei is a favourite playground for many children who love sport.
Previous MLAs had tried at their level best to improve the condition of the playground.
The area being prone to flood, the playground was elevated by the previous MLA in the interest of the players of the area, he said.
Citing ground layering works of the previous MLAs to improve the ground, M Sarat said that it was sad and disappointing that the current MLA failed to acknowledge the importance of the ground and the interest of the people.
He appealed the MLA to stop further excavation of soil from the ground.
In a separate issue, M Sarat said that the BPL families in the constituency have not received allocated rice under NFSA since February.
Sarat further appealed the authorities concerned to look into the matter and provide the due rice, reports our correspondent.
