District level quiz competition organised

Senapati, January 15 2022: The district election officer (DEO), Senapati on Saturday organised a district level quiz competition for higher secondary school children at Mt Everest College auditorium, Senapati under the SVEEP Campaign on Ballot Battle Quiz Competition on Election and Electoral Process.

Briefing media per sons, Willong SDQ/BDO Nongthombam Suran, who is also the nodal officer of SVEEP, Senapati district stated that the competition was held under the guidance of DEO Senapati.

the competition is to be organised in every district of the state and also in other parts of the country, he said.

The main purpose of the event was to enhance the knowledge of election process particularly among the youth who are considered the future pillar of the nation.

Such programmes impart knowledge which is essential to make every citizen of the country understand the election process.

SVEEP campaign is also organised to increase the participation of people in electoral process as well as to make them understand the dos and don'ts of ensuring a free and fair election.

Out of the many schools that took part in the quiz competition, Mt Everest Hr Sec School bagged the championship award of Rs 10,000 whereas Bethany Hr Sec School secured the second position of Rs 7000 and Brook Dale Hr Sec School was declared the third position winner carrying cash prize of Rs 5000 .
