Poirei Leimarol condemns police brutality

Imphal, September 14 2024: Denouncing police brutality on the grounds of dispersing protestors, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur strongly condemned the recent incident of firing tear gas in residential areas on September 11 at Kakwa wherein a pregnant woman, who was at her home, is now in critical condition.

In a release, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur stated that Central government still fails to protect the lives and properties from the attacks launched by Kuki-Zo terrorist since May 3.Denouncing the recent attacks at Koutruk and Moirang using drone bombing and rockets, the irate people and students are protesting against the state for stopping the attacks by the terrorist.

Yet, the police used excessive forces to the students and protestors, it added.

Moreover, it condemned the misleading statement of Assam Rifles ex DG PC Nair where he refuted the used of drone bombing and rockets by Kukis and added that such statement showed the complicit roles of Assam Rifles in Manipur.
