Training / input distribution programme begins

ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Churachandpur launched a three-day Training cum Input Distribution programme under aspirational village programme on "Nursery management of high value vegetable crops", in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre at KVK Training hall.
Pearsonmun in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
The programme was organised under the guidance of ICAR-RC Manipur joint director Dr I Meghachandra Singh for socio-economic development of aspirational village in Churachandpur.
According to an ICAR KVK Churachandpur release, the training programme was participated by 27 farmers from Bongbal village, Kangreng village and Pherzawl district.
In his address, ICAR-KVK Churachandpur head in-charge Dr L Somendro highlighted that the training was conducted to help the farmer participants update their knowledge on agriculture and allied subjects.
During the technical session, ICAR RC Manipur horticulture scientist Dr Ch Premabati Devi delivered a lecture on "Scientific cultivation of Garden Pea variety Arkel" while KVK Churachandpur SMS (Horticulture) Ph Chandramani Singh conducted a hands-on training on "Vegetable seed sowing methods and its management of High value vegeta ble crops" and ICAR-KVK Plant Protection SMS Dr N Johnson Singh stressed on the integrated approach on pests and diseases management of nursery management.
The programme ended with a distribution of 100 kg of Arkel pea and other winter vegetable seeds, micro nutrients, hand sprayer, water cane, spade, shed material, etc., to the farmers.
